PAYMENT
I understand that once I sign up and pay for my membership in full, I have secured my place in the CSA for the respective season. 

There are no refunds, either full or partial, for cancellation of my CSA once purchased. Members may choose to find an alternate person to buy out the rest of the season’s share, and the share ownership will be transferred to the alternate person. The alternate person will pay the original shareholder directly. I understand that I am responsible for informing Gloria Jean Farms if such a transfer occurs.

START DATES
I understand that the start date of each CSA share is flexible, based on seasonal conditions and product availability. I am aware that Gloria Jean Farms will communicate via email to inform all members of updates and the official start date, and that it is my responsibility to contact the farm via email if I am not receiving notifications near the projected CSA start date. 

PICKING UP MY SHARE
I understand that my share will be delivered weekly to the pick up location. If I am out of town or unable to pick up my CSA for any reason, I understand that it is my responsibility to find a substitute to collect my share. If I am unable to pick up my share I will entitle a friend to do so. I understand that if my share is not picked up on the designated day, within the designated time, I forfeit that share and that it will be donated at the discretion of the farmer. I will not receive credit or a refund for any shares that I do not pick up. 

Pick up time parameters are set for the entirety of the season. I agree to not sign up for the CSA knowing that I cannot make it to pick up on the designated day & time. 

I agree to not arrive early or late to the pick up location expecting my share to be available. I understand that the pick up location is also a place of business, and that I am not to interrupt or distract the staff in the course of their normal duties.

I understand that I am responsible for bringing a container to transport my share home in. All bins are to be left at the CSA pick up location.

SPLITTING MY SHARE
I may coordinate the splitting of my CSA share with another individual. I understand that Gloria Jean Farms does not facilitate such arrangements, and does not coordinate special payment on split shares. I will make all arrangements myself for collecting payment from the individual with whom I am splitting my share. 

SHARING THE RISK
I understand that as a member, I share in both the bounty and the risks of farming. I understand that the risks include poor harvests due to unfavorable weather or pests, or the total loss of all crops due to a natural disaster such as fire, flood, or drought. 

ON FARM POLICY:

Farm hazards
We do our best to minimize risks to you and your family when you are visiting; however, we are a working farm and it is impossible to eliminate all hazards.

Uneven ground: Please exercise caution when walking around the farm

Electric fence: We use electric fence to contain our animals and protect them from predators. We try to turn off all sections before CSA pickup; however, to avoid an unpleasant jolt you should assume that all fence is “hot” and don’t touch it without asking first.

Farm equipment: Please do not climb on, operate or move any farm equipment or tools.

Pets: We love dogs and have one of our own. However, there are many animals on the farm as well as other CSA members and their children who may not be as comfortable around dogs. We ask you to assess your own dog—if s/he is very well-behaved around animals, adults and children, you may bring him/her to the farm. Your dog must be on a leash and restrained by you at all times. If s/he he gets overly excited by all the farm stimulation, we ask that you return your dog to your car.

PRIVACY
We will never share your personal information with any third party for any purpose.

FARM RESPONSIBILITIES
To deliver your CSA subscription to your designated pick-up location by the confirmed pick-up time;
To provide you with a weekly e-mail detailing the contents of your CSA box, providing information about the growing season, the crops and suggestions for using items in your box;
To respond to problems in a timely and efficient manner (our goal is to resolve issues within 24 hours of being reported);
To host an open house event at the farm for CSA members;
To provide you with the best and first selection of produce from our farm – we put our obligations to our CSA members ahead of all other markets and customers.

SUBSCRIBER RESPONSIBILITIES
As a CSA subscriber, you have the following responsibilities:

To pay for your subscription in full by the dates you agreed to when signing up;
To pick up your weekly share of food from your chosen pickup location during the designated timeframe and being respectful of the location hosting your pick-up spot;
To assign someone else to pick-up your box and/or change or cancel your pickup location if you are unable to pick up your subscription of food on any given week. Unclaimed shares will be donated to an interested party or facility or composted. There are no refunds or credits for unclaimed boxes if you did not put your account on hold;
To report any problems with your subscription box within 24 hours of pick-up;
To leave your clean, empty CSA box at the pick-up spot on a weekly basis.
